Does it cost me more to use Bay Insurance Brokers as opposed to going to the insurance company direct?

It definitely does not cost you anymore. You are getting the best of both worlds, we do all the research for you based on your requirements and present you with the appropriate polices to consider.

Will you give me the cheapest price?

Our job is to make sure you get the right cover at the best price which is why we select the most suitable cover that will pay your claim with the minimum of fuss.

Are you members of a professional organisation?

Yes, we are members of The Insurance Brokers Association of New Zealand (IBANZ), Brokernet NZ Limited, and the Professional Advisors Association (PAA).

Is an insurance broker the same as an insurance agent?

No. There is a big difference between the two. An agent acts on behalf of an insurance company and can only access products from that particular insurer. Bay Insurance Brokers are not tied to any insurer and is obliged to act in your best interests meaning we can approach a number of insurers to arrange the best protection at a competitive price.

What is the advantage of using a broker?

The advantage is that we have specialists in all aspects of insurance and can identify areas which may cause a problem if there was to be a claim at a later date. We can assist you with the claims process and ensure a speedy outcome – your broker works for you.

Can I pay monthly?

Yes you can pay monthly Bay Insurance Brokers offers a 12 month direct debit payment plan.

How many staff do you have?

We currently have 11 staff that have over 120 years experience between them allowing us to know exactly which insurance company and policy will suit you best. This ensures there will always be someone available to assist you.

Will you help if I make a claim?

Yes, this is one of the most important things we do. We offer this as a value-add service and the point of difference between using a broker rather than banks and direct insurers. We will also assist you in understanding what you are entitled to? We have an 0800 number available 24 hours a day should an emergency occur and you feel you may need to make a claim.
