This insurance provides cover for accidental loss or damage to your boat, whether it be a trailer boat or permanently moored, as well as third party legal liability cover for any damage you cause to someone else’s property.

Some of the factors that will affect the premium and terms applied to the insurance include:

• Age, and construction of the boat

• Whether the boat is motorised, a yacht, mono-hull or multi-hulled

• The maximum design speed of the boat

• The age and boating experience of the owner/main user

• The previous claims/loss experience of the owner/main user over the past 3 years

• Whether the boat is trailered or moored, and what type of mooring

• Location of the boat

• Whether the boat will operate within NZ coastal waters or involved in Blue-water Cruising

• In the case of yachts, whether your boat will be involved in competitive racing
